thinkorswim edits

This wikipedia entry is more than 8 years out of date. I've update the history section here below for consideration.

thinkorswim is an online trading platform. In 2009, TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation acquired the thinkorswim Group, which included the thinkorswim brokerage firm and Investools. thinkorswim offers streaming real time data, elite-level trading tools, insight generation and powerful resources. These features and brokerage services have been integrated into TD Ameritrade. TD Ameritrade provides investing and trading services for nearly six million client accounts that total more than $600 billion in assets, and custodial services for more than 4,000 independent registered investment advisors. With clients placing, on average, approximately 400,000 trades each day (http://www.amtd.com/newsroom/press-releases/press-release-details/2014/TD-Ameritrade-Makes-History-as-Monthly-Average-Trades-Per-Day-Crosses-500000-for-First-Time/default.aspx), it maintains the leadership position it assumed when founder Joe Ricketts opened his doors in Omaha, NE, in 1975. thinkorswim and all TD Ameritrade platforms have no trade minimums, no data fees and no platform fees.

The thinkorswim platform offers clients a broad range of products including: stocks, ETF’s, options, futures, options on futures, and forex. Also, qualified customers can use options and futures within their IRA to manage risk and to capitalize on opportunities.

I changed the founder of INVESTools to Laird Foshay, since it was his company that used the name originally. I've also expanded on Telescan's history, since David Brown and Richard Carlin were responsible for creating most of the tools used in the INVESTools system.

@BowlerjimC15: I just looked a the history section; as it stands, UG! It's atrocious! However, your proposed rewrite isn't great either. The section does need to be rewritten though, and it needs to follow policies such as citing reliable sources which are from a third party, independent of the company. Would you help me find such sources? The only thing you cite in the above suggestion is a press release, which does not qualify as an independent source. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 16:26, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
