Redoing Virginia Colonial Governor Template
editThe wikipedia Virginia Colonial Governors template, as currently configured, indicates that Thomas Colepeper was succeed by Lord Howard of Effingham. In fact, Colepeper was succeeded by a colonial governor who, the rare exception, was an Englishman resident in the colony for decades, and who died in Virginia. Col. Nicholas Spencer, formerly Secretary and President of the Council, succeeded his cousin Thomas Colepeper, and was charged as acting Governor with maintaining the colony for nine months until the arrival of Baron Howard. The template, in my opinion, needs to be rewritten to reflect the service of this early Virginian. Regards,MarmadukePercy (talk) 01:15, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
