POV wording

"colleagues of those who had brutalised and tortured him for three-and-a-half years" is blatantly POV as included in this article unless it can be supported by a reputable source. The linked page is of an article "Published in IRIS, Vol. 1, No. 2, November 1981. IRIS was a publication of the Sinn Fein Foreign Affairs Bureau."; definitely not impartial. The wording could be included if it was identified as being the opinion of Sinn Fein but otherwise it's just POV pushing and bad writing. FWIW, I came upon this page through Special:Random. See Talk:Diarmuid O'Neill. There are serious problems with the referencing of this article. Only two are provided, from highly biased sources. A lot of the details being referenced are trivial and uncontroversial, which is fine, but other details in the Paramilitary activity and Hunger strike sections need further referencing. I've had a fairly detailed look on Google, but can't find any other sources. I presume there could be several books that could be used. Any input would be appreciated. I agree that this is article is quite biased against Thomas McElwee. A few things, Thomas McElwee was blamed for the firebomb when another bomb went off in the car he was in that same day. That is where he was partially blinded. He had a glass eye to replace the one that was destroyed. (I cannot reference right now, I also have Ten Men Dead and will provide some excerpts when I can) -CoreTechs

Londonderry....really?

The use of the word Londonderry in this article is ridiculous, even during the worst days of the troubles the BBC had a policy of always using "Londonderry" except in circumstances where it was completely ludicrous, a specific example given being "one would not talk of the Londonderry brigade of the IRA" yet this article about a republican martyr wasn't using "Derry" at all! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.7.244.89 (talk) 03:20, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

I added a POV tag

The lead should summarise the contents, but presents him simply as a hunger striker and currently makes no mention of the fact he firebombed a shop and killed a woman, for which he was convicted. The sourcing is woeful and currently relies heavily on www.bobbysandstrust.com which is clearly not a neutral source. ----Pontificalibus 13:37, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
