Director of the Observatory at Istanbul University
editHow old was he? Whom did he replace? I think we are to take it that he moved to Istanbul in 1940; the article says he was 58, which would have been 1942 (or 1938 if we take the old Infobox year of birth of 1880 but that would not have been wartime in the Med). The Istanbul University website (http://www.istanbul.edu.tr/fen/astronomy/tanitim/tarihce/history.htm) does not give dates but Finlay Freundlich left for Prague in 1937 and Hans Rosenberg might have been "Hans Rosenberg (1879–1940) of Göttingen [who] published a most interesting article in Astronomische Nachrichten ... dated June 1910"(http://www.leosondra.cz/en/first-hr-diagram/) but alas, that Hans Rosenberg does not have an article - looks like he should, though.
