This article is a rip-off of the University of Virginia's bio of Dr. Walker, just about verbatim, including a reference to a link that only makes sense if one is on the UVA site ("official marriage contract" under the heading "Final Days") with no credit to this source. http://www2.vcdh.virginia.edu/lewisandclark/students/projects/adventurers/walkerbio.html Mindian (talk) 20:34, 15 February 2009 (UTC)mindian 15 feb 2009Reply

I performed partial triage on this yesterday, and a bit more today, though I really should be tending to other matters. I added the page sites from the Leonard volume I used for the infobox, but did not add material concerning his service in the first two revolutionary Virginia conventions. I also did not take time to look at the UVA article mentioned in the other talk page entry. I was appalled with the unsourced block quote in the lede and removed the puffery about Joseph Martin, as well as moved it to the exploration section. From my brief research in the Leonard volume, this man was important in Albemarle County, but the nearest open (by appt) library with accessible county histories is nearly two hours away. I also suspect Walker was a slaveholder, and don't know if he figures in any censuses, which would have to have been reconstructed, since he lived before 1810.Jweaver28 (talk) 15:50, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
