The result of the move request was: Move to Thorncliffe, West Yorkshire. Jafeluv (talk) 07:05, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Thorncliffe, Thorncliffe, Kirkburton → Thorncliffe, Kirkburton — The place name does not need 2 Commas in it. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:35, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Agree that the article needs renaming, but use Thorncliffe, West Yorkshire per naming conventions for English place names. PC78 (talk) 11:58, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
It wants deleting, not moving, it's not notable, its a few houses that's all. [1] Edit undone by editor producing loads of these "articles" and redlinks. --J3Mrs (talk) 12:16, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Agree with User:PC78 (move toThorncliffe, West Yorkshire) place-name should be under the county, WP:NCGN#England supports this. Crouch, Swale (talk) 14:33, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Comment maby Thorncliff, West Yorkshire as I have created a redirect to Thorncliffe, Thorncliffe, Kirkburton as I found a link on List of United Kingdom locations: Thi-Thw so I disambiguated the link to Thorncliff, West Yorkshire. Crouch, Swale (talk) 14:56, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry I may have mucked this up as I moved the article without realising there was a discussion about a move going on. It may need to be moved again by the look of the above discussion. Keith D (talk) 12:12, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Thorncliffe, West Yorkshire → Thorncliff, West Yorkshire – Per the Ordnance Survey and the University of Nottingham placenames survey. While it does seem like the spelling with the "e" is common as Thorn Cliffe (the individual building) Thorncliffe Working Mens Club, Thorncliffe Green and Thorncliffe Spring Farm use the "e", Thorncliff Farm, Thorncliffe Green Road and Thorncliff Spring don't. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:58, 5 February 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Favonian (talk) 18:30, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Just because the Ordnance Survey and a university project get it wrong doesn't mean Wikipedia should copy them. In any case, the OS map spells it correctly on the 1:50,000 mapping, it's only wrong at 1:25,000. Note that a search of the council site for "Thorncliffe" returns 36 results, whereas a search for "Thorncliff" returns zero. --188.30.81.47 (talk) 18:43, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
