In reading the reference, it seems to say that the retreat was first to Summit and Sip, site of Newkirk House, the the oldest extant building in Hudson County near toady's Bergen Square, and then later to the Three Pigeons, so this would avoid confusion re:location. The town of North Bergen, New Jersey was created in 1843, prior to that it was Bergen Township, New Jersey (pre-1862), so maybe that should clarifiedDjflem (talk) 06:40, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

- Yeah, that could be confusing. UC's has so many numbered streets one can forget that there are still some w/ names. Still tend to think it was at Journal Square Transportation Center, 40°43′56″N 74°03′47″W / 40.732141°N 74.063114°W which was near another crossroads Five Corners, Jersey City. A detail I will change, but it's re-direct anyway is that street is called Bergen Turnpike in NB. Might go over for typos, tooDjflem (talk) 20:22, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Newkirk House is at the intersection of Sip and Summit in Journal Square directly on the route across Bergen Hill from Paulus Hook to the Newark Bay, and is the site of the retreatDjflem (talk) 10:26, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
