Newuniversal

edit

...looks like Warren Ellis has just sneaked an alternative version of Ross into newuniversal, too. This could be interesting... --Mrph 12:14, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Explanation

edit

Has any explanation ever been given for why Ross has this compulsion to piss off the Hulk every time he sees him? Why he's blind to the fact that the Hulk doesn't smash anything if you're nice to him and leave him alone? Surely by the post-modern era they must have done at least one deconstruction of this logic flaw. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 01:44, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Several, in fact, ever since the early 1970s. Most of them derive in some way or another from the desire to protect his daughter from the troubles that her interest in Bruce Banner bring to her life. Eventually his own frustrations as a military man that basically wasted years of his career in a wild goose chase became a factor of its own. It began to take shape IMO when Betty Ross married Major Glenn Talbot. By the time of Byrne's run on the character, Ross was unbalanced enough to actually attempt to kill Banner in cold blood during his marriage to Betty. At that point, there was probably no turning back. Luis Dantas (talk) 01:06, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merge discussion.

edit

This week's comics revealed the identities of Red Hulk and Red She Hulk. So I'm starting merge discussions for the pairs of articles that are now officially shown to be about the same character. Personally, given that the paired articles are indeed about the same character, I'm not sure why they would *not* be properly merged. - TexasAndroid (talk) 00:27, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merge The reasons seem self-evident to me. Nightscream (talk) 04:48, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I guess the real question is-- what is the main character name that the page should stay under-- "Thunderbolt Ross" or "Rulk"? Same applies for Betty Ross. They've been known as the Rosses since the 60's. These new Red identities may not last, but as it stands, they are Red Hulk and Red She-Hulk.

Similar rule that applied to Daken who went by Wolverine, or Bullseye that went by Hawkeye... even though there was already a Wolverine and a Hawkeye around! --Maninthewomb (talk) 18:09, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

They are the Rosses in my opinion. That's what they are best known as if they stay the Red Hulks for years and that is their primary role then I would say use the latter but until them they are still the Rosses. --  Grimbear13 ►Talk  19:25, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Correct Reference

edit

I'm looking at the reference for when Ross was revealed to be Rulk and it says Hulk #2 which I believe I own and it is not in there. The only reason why I say "I believe I own" is because of the constant switching of enumerations and merging of series it's hard to follow. I own the Hulk #2 which was a split TPB half of the story was Hulk fighting Wendigos and the second half was Rulk fighting the Lady Liberators. Also the reference is dated July 2010. Is this information correct? Can someone clarify this for me? --  Grimbear13 ►Talk  19:28, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's in a brand new issue just published this week (two days ago now), as a final-page reveal of his identity. I'll need to look up the exact comic/issue this evening if someone has not already fixed it by then. - TexasAndroid (talk) 19:38, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Actually, the reference links to Vol 2, Issue #22, which sounds about right to me. - TexasAndroid (talk) 19:40, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thunderbolt Ross as Red Hulk

edit

If it was confirmed that Thunderbolt Ross was Red Hulk all along, how was it that he was there when cutting Red Hulk loose or sending Red Hulk after Domino when she witnessed Red Hulk's transformation? Not that is confusing to the readers? Rtkat3 (talk) 10:34, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Simple answer: Loeb. -- 4.153.83.44 (talk) 22:20, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Expansion

edit

The Ultimate Ross section deserves expansion. This Ross did a lot, including coming back from the dead by (seemingly) sheer force of will. Lots42 (talk) 08:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Red Hulk

edit

I tried to change the page title to RED HULK but it didn't seem to work right, can someone else do this for me or tell me how I could do it?24.191.7.238 (talk) 23:57, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, 24.191.7.238. New discussions should go under a heading at the bottom of the page, not the top.
Since the character was known for the first 46 years of its existence as Thunderbolt Ross, and Red Hulk is only one incarnation of the character that originated four years ago, more of the article's material will naturally be devoted to the former than the latter, so the article title will reflect that. S.H.I.E.L.D.

edit

Please add Template:S.H.I.E.L.D. and Category:S.H.I.E.L.D. agents since Ross is a Director in Ultimate SHIELD. --173.51.29.188 (talk) 07:06, 12 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
