Talk:Thymidine kinase 1

Article Page Name

edit

TK1 is a somewhat strange name for a Wikipedia article. It will confuse many people doing searches for things like Gtk. I think that articles for genes should be prefixed with strings like "Human Gene"; for example, I would name this article Human Gene TK1.--Mumia-w-18 02:01, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thymidine kinase 1 article updated with references

edit

Thank you for changing the name of this article and providing the references. This is a lot better.--Mumia-w-18 (talk) 07:00, 19 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Two articles about the same enzyme!

edit

This is a stub about an enzyme that is treated in more detail under the name Thymidine Kinase. I suggest that the long list of literature references is transferred to this other more extensive article about the enzyme (that lacks references) and that thereafter this stub is removed. The combined article could be re-named "Thymidine Kinase (Enzyme)". The references to the thymidine kinase gene should be transferred to a separate article "Thymidine Kinase (Gene)" and a disambiguation page for "Thymidine kinase" be added. If this is done, I will create a user alias and contribute further references and, if I am trusted to do so, add some text about the gene. I am User:Sarcyn in Swedish Wikipedia and editor for the category Gene Expression with sub-categories in DMOZ.
