Added this reference, "Is Surgery Really Necessary For Your Dog's ACL / CCL Ligament Injury?" due to concerns that canine osteotomy for ACL or other cruciate ligaments are not well studied. There is the possibility that the "common wisdom" of "90%" improve after this surgical treatment is based on very poor anecdotal reports and no actual controlled studies.
I have (yet) no opinion on the validity of this criticism except to engage in further careful research on my own.
Admittedly, I just paid a significant amount for a TPLO (on my granddaughter's Golden Retriever) without doing sufficient research.
