History of TDE

edit

I felt the need to fill in a gap about the History of TDE and to make tribute to the pioneers astronomers who developped this idea, I mean Jean-Pierre Luminet and Brandon Carter from the Observatoire de Paris as soon as 1982, being the first to theorize this concept after the idea developed by M.Rees and al. in 1976 (cf. MNRAS) but not modelised nor simulated.

I suggest to an english native editor to review my chapter as well as to edit the references that I was unable to correctly list (Note to the programmer managing the "reference" button : the way to link references is easier to use on the french interface of wikimedia).

I changed the page

edit

I deleted 5 letters and added a word called "called". (This can confuse you.) 45.177.58.104 (talk) 22:28, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Different classes of TDE

edit

I feel like the contents of the article below are relevant to this page and this page should include mention of the different ways matter can be ejected outside the range of the BH during a TDE as well as how some (one!?) relativistic jets seem to end quickly and abruptly while others go on for decades should also find mention on this page.

Wikipedia Hack Session in May 2024 by KITP TDE program

edit

This just serves as a note that this TDE page has been subject to a "hack session" by the KITP TDE program, as it is very out of date- https://www.kitp.ucsb.edu/activities/tde24

Editors are all expert researchers in the field of TDEs, but not all are experienced with Wikipedia editing. Ycendes (talk) 23:09, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
