In my work (I am not a native English speaker) I was confused by the term "Tier 1 suppliers". It seems to mean "pre selected suppliers". Maybe add this meaning? Erik-jan otto (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:40, 6 September 2010 (UTC).
- To find a definition of what tiers are, look at tier.
- Tier 1 is the first of possibly (probably) many tiers.
- In most business language cases you could have used the word "level" instead, but common jargon has settled on "tier X" or in the case of tier 1 sometimes "preferred/gold/platinum/most valued partner" or some other buzz word.
- Also, to find definitions of a word it is probably better to look in a dictionary (Wiktionary) than in an encyclopedia (Wikipedia).
