Talk:Tier 1

In my work (I am not a native English speaker) I was confused by the term "Tier 1 suppliers". It seems to mean "pre selected suppliers". Maybe add this meaning? Erik-jan otto (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:40, 6 September 2010 (UTC).Reply

To find a definition of what tiers are, look at tier.
Tier 1 is the first of possibly (probably) many tiers.
In most business language cases you could have used the word "level" instead, but common jargon has settled on "tier X" or in the case of tier 1 sometimes "preferred/gold/platinum/most valued partner" or some other buzz word.
Also, to find definitions of a word it is probably better to look in a dictionary (Wiktionary) than in an encyclopedia (Wikipedia).
