editThese transformations apply to finite presentations of monoids (and maybe even semigroups?). Could use some more detail, too.

editHere (https://math.stackexchange.com/q/3893972/259363) is a question I asked on MSE a while ago. There seems to be a small confusion in the article. The issue I addressed was about whether we are allowed to do an infinite amount of transformations, but the article's page never considers this case. It may be relevant and useful to include this !
