Beach Water Contamination
editFor over 80 years the Tijuana River has dumped sewage and other crap into the United States. It has been an unmitigated ecological disaster. Heavy metal contamination, raw sewage and trash is measured in tens of meters in depth in the TJ River Valley which is a so called natural wildlife preserve.
This is the longest documented ecological issue of any river in the United States and it is not mentioned. It is often overlooked by the US Federal Government and the State of California.
Most of the beaches north (in the USA) of where the Tijuana River enters the Pacific Ocean are contaminated more than 70% of the year like at Imperial Beach. Unhealthful bacteria has been tracked all the way north to the mouth of the San Diego Bay. And occasionally far beyond. The US Navy Seal area in Coronado often can not train with the hazardous crap in the water.
This really needs to be expanded upon in this article. Jrcrin001 (talk) 21:15, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
