Page rewrite
editI stumbled across this page that looks like it was copied from a website. I thought I would fuss on it an hour or so and get it in order, and the next thing I knew, three days passed. There is so much more information that needs citations (I have them on the edit screen) that hopefully someone will take on. I have inserted a few photos of the fish he worked on and used the same style to make the page look more uniform. I came across a lot of articles based on his research that need to be used on various pages. Hopefully I can get to those. Very interesting page and interesting man, he has done so much for science, I think the least he deserves a well-written Wikipedia page. Enjoy! Sgerbic (talk) 04:14, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
A wee bit promotional
editThis article feels off somehow. There are a lot of personal facts, quotes, and trivia about this man that make the article read like a magazine profile, not an encyclopedia. Here's hust one example:
Berra and his wife Rita M. Berra endowed the first chair established at Ohio State's regional campus. Berra hopes that the chair will be filled by a scientist that will do field work and return to teach at the Mansfield campus, also Berra made the bequest to honor his wife Rita whom he says "'She has made my life easier for all these years and has provided unselfish support, freeing me to pursue my research'". The chair is called the Tim M. and Rita M. Berra Endowed Chair in Evolutionary Biology, in the Department of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology.

- I have added some tags. It's a thorough article, but it's not encyclopedic in style/tone at the moment. I will try to improve it. Pyrrho the Skipper (talk) 18:02, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
- I await to see you fix it Sgerbic (talk) 05:33, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- I'm working on a rewrite to the career section. I think it's mostly good stuff to include, but I think the prose can be reworked to summarize the highlights and most important bits, and probably remove the bullet list with the arbitrary date order. - I agree a rewrite/heavy trim is in order. Lots of fluff and filler and editorial flourishes that seems trying to "tell an exciting story" rather than summarizing accomplishments in a disinterested, formal tone. --Animalparty! (talk) 03:02, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
So it looks like we can now remove the two tags? Sgerbic (talk) 23:12, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
