editTim Roemer takes much hey about his vote against the Clinton tax increase and budget in 1993. It is important to keep in mind, that according to Congressional Quarterly, Roemer voted to preserve the taxing and spending limits in Clinton's budget 44 times in procedural votes only to vote against the final version of the bill. It is more likely that this was a political move on Roemers part because while the 3rd district was mostly democractic, it was old school democratic which made a conservative democrat look appealing.

Timothy Roemer stepped down from being ambassador
editprobably a good idea to update "The news came on the same day as Indian officials said U.S. companies had been shut out of one of the biggest Indian defense deals in years: The purchase of 126 fighter jets worth some $10 billion. The timing may be coincidental — Mr. Roemer in his resignation statement said he was resigning for “personal, professional and family considerations” and said nothing of the fighter contract – but is nonetheless significant. For while the U.S. has tried mightily during his two-year tenure to alter the economic dynamic between India and the U.S., there is little to show for it." http://blogs.wsj.com/indiarealtime/2011/04/28/what-did-roemer-achieve-as-u-s-ambassador/ [1] 122.177.116.155 (talk) 15:07, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
