What about the oldest surviving manuscripts for each of the scriptures

edit

We have the best estimates of dates of composition, but no list of manuscript dates, which ought to be crucial. A chart like the one below ought to be offered.

Document Estimated date of composition.................................................Oldest manuscript studied to conclude date of composition

Rigveda, 1500 – 1100 BCE[1][2] Samaveda, 1200 - 800 BCE[2] Yajurveda, 1100 - 800 BCE[2] Atharvaveda, 1000 - 800 BCE[2] The early Upanishads were composed over 900 - 300 BCE.[2][3]

Others[edit] Mahabharata, 400 BCE[4][5][6](Origins likely in the 8th or 9th century BCE)[5] Bhagavad Gita, 400 BCE[2] Ramayana, 400 BCE[4][7][8] Samkhya Sutra Mimamsa Sutra, 300-200 BCE[9] Arthashastra, 400 BCE - 200 CE[10] Nyāya Sūtras, 2nd century BCE[11] Vaiśeṣika Sūtra, 2nd century BCE[12] Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 100 BCE - 500 BCE[13] Brahma Sutra, 500 BCE[14][15] Puranas, 250 – 1000 CE[16] Shiva Sutras, 120 BCE[citation needed] Abhinavabharati, 950 - 1020 CE[citation needed] Yoga Vasistha, 750 CE [17][18] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:204:D200:7000:A8FF:4479:58D4:F7C0 (talk) 21:33, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Conflict!

edit

Bhagavad Gita is part of Mahabharata. The date mentioned for Bhagavad Gita is 3000 BCE - 2900 BCE, which is nearly correct (best estimation is 3102 BC), since it is part of Mahabharata how can Mahabharata's date be 400 BCE - 400 CE?. Also, all the Vedas find their mention in Bhagavad Gita, how can their dates be in future when compared with Bhagavad Gita's?
