Throughout the timeline, the term “Montgolfière” is used as a synonym for “balloon”. To the air enthusiast/historian, “Montgolfier” implies a “hot air” balloon of the type first demonstrated by the famous brothers. The balloons most often referred to in the timeline were of the hydrogen-filled type, pioneered by J.A.C. Charles. While it doesn't constitute a point of serious controversy, the blanket reference to all balloons as “Montgolfières” seems both inaccurate and inappropriate. Joeinphx 21:42, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Notability of entries

There are far too many trivial entries in this article. As it is an international article only entries which are of international notability should be included. These would include firsts and other record breaking achievements. Deaths and Births should be included in separate sections as with Year articles. Entries which are not internationally notable should be included in equivalent Country articles (which would require their creation). Robertson claim dubious

This page makes the claim that Robertson took a balloon up to over 7km in 1803. That seems extremely unlikely and definitely needs further verification! Harris's jump dubious

According to the Wikipedia article on Harris, Thomas Harris (aviator), the inquest at the time seems to indicate that Harris was found dead in the basket. 211.225.33.104 (talk) 04:53, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Steam-Jet Dart

I deleted this from the timeline because it is just a design, never implemented. Please consider starting those articles, but it just doesn't seem like it rises to the level of an overall timeline item.
