My replies:
  • The only Preliminary Report which gave a number to a tropical depression was the one for Josephine.
  • I'll get right on making a timeline graph.

Since there is a timeline graph, it passes B3, great work, I suggest a FLC run with this one :) --Anhamirak 17:54, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Wait untill one of the two that are up at the minute has come down though.Jason Rees (talk) 18:02, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
I personally don't see the point in waiting, to be honest; correct me if I am mistaken, but wouldn't 3 simultaneous FLC's be a good sign for WPTC? I read about former troubles the project went through with marginal inactivity; maybe 3 FLC's at the same time could be a sign that WPTC is re-activating. Besides, I don't remember reading about a limit on the number of hurricane season timelines allowed to be at FLC at the same time. I fully respect and understand your opinion though, and I would be more than happy to delay the FLC should other editors agree with you. Best, Dylan620 (contribs, logs) 18:20, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
There is no imposed limit but to avoid flooding with the same type of articles, it's best to limit the number of FxCs so we don't overdo it. FAC can go up to four IIRC and FLC is three, but having three timelines is a bit much, especially since they're all in the same basin. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 18:32, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
If the article meets WP:WIAFL, I don't see why it can't be nominated straight away. –Juliancolton | Talk 18:40, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Changing my mind about submitting it for FL today; I'll submit it at WP:WPTC/A instead. Cheers, Dylan620 (contribs, logs) 18:43, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Actually, given the inactivity at WP:WPTC/A, I've changed my mind about that. Per Julian's comment, I am enticed to ship this off to FLC. Best, Dylan620 (contribs, logs) 19:21, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

"Hurricane Huron"

edit

Nobody's mentioned it yet here, so I thought I'd bring up the proverbial "800 pound gorilla in the room" of the 1996 North Atlantic Hurricane Season: Hurricane Huron.

Should it even be mentioned in the timeline?

To be honest, Hurricane Huron has pretty much become part of the culture of my home State of Michigan, and around here, you can't talk about the events of 1996 without someone mentioning Hurricane Huron.

It's that culturally significant around here.

Yeah, I know I've just opened a giant can of worms, but the question has to be asked. 68.41.217.174 (talk) 03:33, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
