Wow. Reading this timeline makes you believe that the Insurrectors actually won the war. Funny, last I checked they lost.
Something is missing here. Alot of somethings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.114.206.48 (talk • contribs)

Historical context
editThe additions which were deleted offer historical context, other American wars in the same time period. please keep them in the article. Maybe we can make them italicized, or somehow differentiate them from the rest of the war. Travb 04:11, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Some edits to conform this articles to other articles
editI've just edited this article, mainly trying to bring the start and end dates of the war timelined here into agreement with other articles which cover the same events in more detail than is given here. In doing this, I've mainly looked at two articles: History of the Philippines (1898–1946) and Battles of the Philippine–American War. I'm pausing after these changes for comment and discussion here, as may be needed.
As I get time, I hope to look at this article, at the two others mentioned above, at the Philippine–American War article, and at other relevant articles in more detail, with the book Brian McAllister Linn (2000), The Philippine War, 1899-1902, University Press of Kansas, ISBN 9780700612253 (a copy of which I recently picked up at the National Historical Commission of the Philippines), and try to add or adjust material in the articles based on supporting information in that (fairly detailed) book. I see that an edit which I thought I had made here yesterday has gotten lost. After moving forward a bit on this, I've came to the conclusion that this article needs a ground-up rewrite. Reasons for this conclusion include the many duplicated subsection headings (see MOS:HEAD), and many contradictions between unsupported material in this article and supported material in other articles covering the same events (articles e.g., History of the Philippines (1898-1946), Philippine-American War, Spanish-American War, etc.)
I've started on a rewrite of this article at User:Wtmitchell/Sandbox. Work on that is far enough along to give a good indication of what the eventual result will be, but not yet far enough along to move into place here. My intention is to continue work there as I have time, and to replace this existing article with that rewrite at some point -- probably in the reasonably near future.
Input from and participation by other interested editors is solicited. I'll be inviting individual editors who had edited this article in the fairly recent past to comment and participate, and mentioning this at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 03:27, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I haven't completed editing my rewrite, but I'm going to be traveling in a few days and work on it may be delayed by that travel.I think that it is an improvement on the current article even in its current unfinished state, so I've replaced this article with the under-construction rewrite.
