Orphaned references in Timeline of military engagements in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Timeline of military engagements in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "auto":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:18, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Notification of split

The final stable version of the Timeline will likely be copied to this page over the weekend. Johncdraper (talk) 18:01, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ceasefire announcement; afd / merge?

edit

If the ceasefire holds over the weekend, which I suspect depends on whether the talks are indeed "substantive", I am wondering what to do about this Timeline. There are thus two possibilities: maintain the separate timeline, or afd / merge this page. Personally, I consider the Timeline in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to be adequate, if the ceasefire holds. It obviously requires more secondary sources, but these will likely help reduce overall size, not increase it. In fact, I consider it to be a decent attempt to record the engagements in Wikipedia's voice and therefore an example to other current event conflict pages; this is another reason to maintain it within the page. Overall, the page is a B candidate and may be a candidate for rapid promotion up from that. However, B pages and above cannot have main or subheading warning templates (like split/merge), so we need to act accordingly. Johncdraper (talk) 10:28, 10 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have split the timeline from the main article into this article

edit

It is now done, so I anticipate that this page will be edited extensively by those who were previously updating the timeline on the main conflict page.TheEpicGhosty (talk) 21:10, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Can this page be granted the same edit protections as the main page please? --LOLCaatz (talk) 05:03, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Dear Beshogur, may I know why you decided to remove all this information? Sincerely, Գարիկ Ավագյան (talk) 20:13, 31 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Գարիկ Ավագյան: hello. This is a timeline, we have an infobox on the main article. Why would we need one here? Beshogur (talk) 20:17, 31 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Beshogur: well, infobox is important because it shortens the information and makes it more understandable to the reader. It is basic of Wikipedia's articles. Don't you think so?
Similar to Timeline of the Syrian Civil War, I don't think we need any infobox. Beshogur (talk) 21:04, 31 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
I agree, there is no reason to duplicate the infobox of the main article. Vici Vidi (talk) 08:14, 3 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Why are there no military movements on the 30nd? A ceasefire? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.222.119.244 (talk) 09:48, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

November 3 and 4

Is there a reason there is no info on Nov. 3 and 4? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Learnst (talkcontribs) 13:24, 4 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Liberated" - loaded language

edit

I think this term has absolutely no place in this article except when quoting sources. It is a violation of NPOV. --LOLCaatz (talk) 12:15, 8 November 2020 (UTC) LOLCaatz (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. Reply

"x captured, x denied, x released video, then x confirmed they lost"

edit

Can't we just cut most of these things? Simply, "At around 19:40, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that the Azerbaijani forces had taken control of Suqovuşan.[122] He also stated that Azerbaijani forces had taken control of Talış in Tartar, several settlements in Jabrayil, and Aşağı Əbdürrəhmanlı in Fuzuli.[123]" to something "Azerbaijan had taken control of Madagiz, Talış, and several settlements in Jabrayil and Fuzuli." If those claims were not refuted by Armenian authorities, and there is simply a video proof, why not? This is just an example, there are dozens of this. Beshogur (talk) 15:00, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Flalf:, what do you think? Beshogur (talk) 17:23, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
I said this on the talk page of 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War, but since the president of Artsakh’s spokesperson confirmed it is think that there is enough to prove that Azerbaijan has taken the city. FlalfTalk 00:12, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

At 4 Ojctober the follwing sentence is written: At around 17:80, the Armenian MoD released footage apparently showing Azerbaijani soldiers leaving Mataghis. Could you please correct the time? Ksanyi (talk) 09:14, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
