Etymology
editHi, can anyone supply etymology to the Latin name? Thanks Rosswood40 (talk) 15:27, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
- Jaeger gives it as New Latin "name for certain bugs". Not very informative. Sorry! JonRichfield (talk) 16:32, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
- Well, the family name is derived from the name of its type genus, Tingis. This rather old article in Science (and specifically the page seen here) suggests that it comes from the Ancient Greek name for Tangier. --Stemonitis (talk) 16:40, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
Lifecycle Timeline
editIt would be great if anyone could find an accurate life-cycle time-line for this creature. Something that would show how long it takes for each stage of development from birth to egg laying. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chaz sliger (talk • contribs) 20:36, 7 September 2017 (UTC)
