Notable people
This section is way to large. It should really only be a list of notable people but instead it expands the entry for people who have there own article to two paragraphs. At best these people should have a single sentence. What about the following:
- Dr. Adam Clarke (1762–1832) - A British Methodist theologian and celebrated Biblical scholar.
- Alexander Carson (1776–1844) - Prominent Irish Baptist, pastor of Tobermore Baptist Church and author of the classic Baptism, Its Mode and Subjects.
- Sir Hiram Shaw Wilkinson (1840–1936) - Sir Hiram Wilkinson was a leading British judge and diplomat.
- Harry Gregg MBE (born 25 October 1932) - Former Manchester United and Northern Ireland goalkeeper.
I have dropped Kathleen Forde from the list. Bjmullan (talk) 21:14, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- I can agree to those who have their own article. I'll work on it as you've cut out far too much information. Take it your watching this article checking out my edits :-P Mabuska (talk) 21:37, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- I've made changes cutting out almost all of Adam Clarke and Harry Gregg. I've kept Tobermore specific information for Alexander Carson, but the rest of his is gone too. I see no reason to reduce the Hiram Shaw Wilkinson information until i can see if he's notable enough for his own article, but looking at his career i'd say he's notable enough for a stub article. I see no reason for dropping Kathleen Forde from the list, the information could be merged into his article and the information on her in this section shrunk.
- I wonder how to include into the article that the daughter of the founder of the British Army Gurkhas got married in Tobermore Church of Ireland and that a member of the Belgian underground resistence in WWII lived in the village for 60 years? Or is there any case for it? Interesting information none the less even if not. Mabuska (talk) 22:00, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- Mabuska, someone has to keep an eye on you ;-) The changes are better but might it be an idea to create an article for Hiram Shaw Wilkinson? There are article out there for people who are a lot less notable than him. Bjmullan (talk) 08:01, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- I don't see why... my edits are rarely controversial or problematic. Though your proposing something i proposed above you lol :-D Mabuska (talk) 10:32, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- Of course you did! That's what happens when you read the comments at night and then do the reply in the morning! Bjmullan (talk) 11:32, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
