This is going to be the island a man stays on for 300 days alone and films it.68.240.32.184 (talk) 19:41, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Picture

There is a map of the island and the surrounding area here http://to.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tofua.gif but I am not sure how to bring the image in from another language portion of the site.

How does one move this map into the infobox? Peter Horn User talk 02:58, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

The mountain infobox seems to only support maps set up as {{location map}}s, so this map as it stands cannot be moved into the infobox. Our options include: (1) use an existing location map, e.g. {{Location map Tonga}}; (2) create a new location map, e.g. for just the Ha'apai group; and (3) leave the existing image as it is, outside the infobox. The best option is probably (2), but that would also be the most work. --Avenue (talk) 13:10, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
It is worth noting that infobox islands appears able to support either format. I'll try right here.

Also, infobox islands has fields that infobox mountain does not have. these could either be added to the existing template or a new template template:infobox mountain islands could be created for islands with a single volvano. Peter Horn User talk 22:27, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
One more try. It may also be a question of tweeking the template(s) so that it (they) could accept either format. I have seen that infobox islands also accepts another format. I'll have to hunt for an example. Peter Horn User talk 22:35, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
And a third try. Peter Horn User talk 22:53, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

I give up for now. Peter Horn User talk 22:54, 3 November 2010 (UTC) Peter Horn User talk 21:24, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

I believe the issue is that {{Infobox mountain}} limits the number of maps/images in the infobox. I would suggest raising this issue at Template talk:Infobox mountain. There are several editors over there who are usually fairly responsive to such queries. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 03:46, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Population

If what is stated is true, then it is actually uninhabited. 50 people visiting for two weeks does not make a population!Kuya Kulisi (talk) 05:06, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

"Lofia"

Of the last sentence of the first paragraph: A postcaldera cone with fumarolic activity (Lofia) is in the northern part of the caldera; a crater lake with 500 m (1,600 ft) depth occupies most of the remainder. and the following sentence: Most historical eruptions have been small explosions from Lofia cone along the northern caldera rim. What does "Lofia" mean? 129.49.10.174 (talk) 00:13, 23 November 2019 (UTC)

Inhabited in the past?

A close examination of the island on satellite view shows several areas of old terracing now overgrown by trees. Was there ever a fixed population on Tofua?
