Return to Port Vale

edit
  • " to help Vale to pick up back-to-back wins for the first time in over a year". This needs a reference.
I just removed the first time in a year part as it's not important and the rest is in the reference.--EchetusXe 13:55, 10 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Personal life

edit
  • Refs 114, 115, and 116 don't seem to be working. Whenever I click on them it just takes me to a page saying Service Unavailable - DNS failure. Could alternative references be found if possible?
I did the wayback machine for all the dead links so they should be archived now.--EchetusXe 21:31, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Ref 4 doesn't seem to be working. Could an alternative be found.

  • Ref 19 is no longer available on YouTube.
I removed it.--EchetusXe 21:31, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think there it a bit of work to be done here so I'm putting this review on hold. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 10:35, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Okay thanks!--EchetusXe 21:31, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Looks like we're almost done here. Once the last issue has been addressed I think this will be ready to pass. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 09:52, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ah yeah, I forgot about that one.--EchetusXe 13:55, 10 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
OK then, looks like we're done here. Congrats. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 15:09, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

May I note one further problem?

The results of a Google search for -

Tom Pope - Port Vale

- return teaser text that says -

Current teams: Crewe Alexandra F.C.

Clearly this should be Port Vale F.C., but I cannot find the erroneous teaser text anywhere within the article text.

Tom Pope warming up for Port Vale in 2013
  • ... that Tom Pope became the second highest goalscorer in Port Vale's history after twice being rejected by the club as a teenager? Source: "Pope is in his second spell with the Alex and has also had two unsuccessful trials at Vale Park" (link) "The goal was Pope’s 109th in a Vale shirt - taking him clear as the club’s post-war record scorer one clear of Martin Foyle." Source: link "So, he was visibly moved to have reached his century with the winner at Northampton this afternoon, making him only the third Vale player to score 100 goals. Tom Pope. Martin Foyle, Wilf KIrkham. That's fine company indeed, as Pope appreciates." Source: link

  • Comment: Bit convoluted for the sources but I think the quotes confirm the hook

That goal against City moved Pope up to second on Port Vale’s all-time goalscoring list ahead of Martin Foyle.EchetusXe 09:51, 20 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • @Echetus: Oh, now I see it further down in the article, with a cite. I was looking at this sentence: He established himself in the Alex first team in 2007–08, and his seven goals put him as the club's second highest scorer after Nicky Maynard. which does not have a cite. Could you add one there please? Yoninah (talk) 12:52, 20 October 2020 (UTC) Re-ping @EchetusXe: Yoninah (talk) 12:52, 20 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ah I see. Okay I've added a reference there. Thanks.EchetusXe 15:30, 20 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
