Much as I love the human centipede, is Tom Six really all that notable? Shouldn't this article (for the time being) just link to The Human Centipede (First Sequence)? Coolug (talk) 15:55, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

proposed redirect to The Human centipede (First Sequence)

edit

Tom Six is the director of the Human centipede and that's about it really. As per WP:ONEVENT I think I'm gonna just redirect this page to human centipede. Anyone feels otherwise just go ahead and revert the change. cya Coolug (talk) 11:03, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why didn't this redirect ever happen? 108.107.89.226 (talk) 21:53, 1 November 2011 (UTC)KandyRäyneReply

He made other films although they are only known in the Netherlands. His movie I Love Dries got considerable exposure in Dutch media, although mainly because of its subject (eg [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]). Remember Wikipedia is an international site. Since I proposed that redirect one year and five months ago Tom Six has made another film (even if it was a human centipede sequel) and has become very well known. As stated above, he has also made some other films, even if none of us in the UK-USA have ever heard of them. So he is clearly notable enough. Coolug (talk) 22:34, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposal to move particular information to the The Human Centipede 2 article

edit

Agreed that this article should remain, but should the following material be removed and added to the Human Centipede 2 article:

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) initially denied The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) obtaining an 18 certificate for fears it poses a "real risk" to viewers.[3] On 6 October 2011, The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) was approved in the UK for public release. The BBFC granted the film an 18 certificate after previously declaring the movie as "unacceptable" for audiences, highlighting the protagonist's "total degradation, humiliation, mutilation, torture, and murder of his naked victims". Two minutes and 37 seconds were cut from the film in order to obtain an 18 rating.

The above passage is only indirectly related to Tom Six and does not mention him by name or allude to him, although it does directly relate to the Human Centipede 2 which has its own article. Any thoughts?

It is relevant to the director's career but you are free to introduce it in the Human Centipede 2 article (if it isn't there already). Be bold! SpeakFree (talk)(contribs) 17:23, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Have you looked at the THC2 article? It's already there! For the record I think that Six directed a film that was initially banned is more than worthy of being in his article. Coolug (talk) 17:39, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

source for Six Big Brother involvement

edit

Hello.

On the off chance that Tom Six ever does anything other than Human centipede and becomes worthy of his own article, here's a source that (briefly) mentions Sixes involvement with the Dutch series of Big Brother. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-10682513

Since this is a Bio of a living person, can we get some confirmation of place/date of birth and legitimacy of the photo. Also I removed the "height" in the infobox as it has no citation and even if it was cited, it may not be relevant. 99.206.16.241 (talk) 23:52, 31 October 2011 (UTC)MoiReply

Height

edit

Again, this is a BLP, the unreferenced claim that he is only 1.82 m (5 ft 11 1⁄2 in) tall may be possible vandalism. Is there any proof that he is this short? Even if it is true that he is less than 6 feet tall, has it had any negative impact on his filmmaking career?

1.82m isn't too short. Well for Dutch people it might be (as the Dutch are on average the tallest people in the world) but globally it's way above average. SpeakFree (talk)(contribs) 22:32, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Also, I have searched online and can't find out how much he weighs. Most filmmakers are judged more on weight that height it the current culture of the film industry. 99.206.16.241 (talk) 02:47, 1 November 2011 (UTC)MoiReply

[citation needed] SpeakFree (talk)(contribs) 22:32, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Does anyone know how tall he is in real life? Is there any documentation the he is actually 1,82 metres, or is it just speculation? 108.107.89.226 (talk) 21:58, 1 November 2011 (UTC)KandyRäyneReply

I'd suggest getting rid of the information completely. There's no source given, and it's frankly irrelevant to the subject. Papa November (talk) 23:31, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Even if his height was mentioned in a reliable source, unless it has some kind of significance that may not seem obvious, it seems like trivia. Unless there is a reason to keep it and if no one objects, I am going to remove it. 108.107.89.226 (talk) 23:45, 1 November 2011 (UTC) KandyRäyneReply

FWIW, I met him a few years ago and he was neither very short or very tall. He appeared of normal height I believe. Now firstly, that is original research so can't be used, and secondly, why the hell would anyone reading this care about how tall some film director is? This has no place in the article.
