tenses
editCan we please ensure that tenses for plot summaries are consistent? I think present tense, when appropriate, is usually considered correct for relating fictional events. Thanks. Gloriana232 13:36, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
president?
editIsn't Zarek president now that Baltar is gone? Zyxwvutsrqp 03:18, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I was actually wondering the same thing, to be honest, but we'll need some kind of official confirmation. JBK405 20:34, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- It was discussed in the Episode "Collaborators" that Zarek would assume the presidency, appoint Roslin vice-president, then resign so she could be president and he vice-president, since the military would not support Zarek's presidency. Static Universe 19:12, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

editSocialist?
editAlthough it mentions his populism in the wiki file, do you think that the 'socialist' designation would be appropriate? For evidence I would point to his fight against exploitation on his home planet, but specifically this quote in the first season episode 'Colonial Day':
"If things weren't so serious, I'd say that was funny. Look, there's no economy. There's no market, no industry, no capital. Money is worthless. And yet, we're all held hostage by the idea of the way things used to be. Look where we are. This man wakes up every morning, tugs on his boots and goes to work in this garden. Why, because it's his job? What job? He labors, but he gets no benefit! And he's not the only one. Many of us are just still going through the motions of our old lives. The lawyers still act like lawyers but they have no clients! Businessmen still act like businessmen but have no business! President Roslin and her policies are all about holding onto a fantasy! If we wanna survive, we need to completely restructure our lives. We need to think about the community of citizens. The group, not the individual. We need to completely free ourselves of the past, and operate as a collective." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.165.241.119 (talk) 00:32, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

editLater in the series, Zarek runs for political office, and is elected representative for Sagittaron on the new Quorum of Twelve (the upper house of the legislative branch of the government, and the only one expedient to use under the circumstances).
