Umm. The song is titled "Tomorrow is a long time." We probably need to have an admin move this as there already is a redirect there.

I see some sign on the net that there are bootlegs or other listings of the song with "Long Place," but I don't have the full story. Amazon (and to my memory, the vinyl - but its 9,000 miles away at the moment) has "Long Time." If someone knows the full story, would be worthy of putting the details in the article - but as first officially released, I think "Long Time" is proper for the article title. Elvis wasn't the Greatest Fan?

How come Elvis covered several Dylan songs, if he wasn't a fan? And was there even a cite for the (currently deleted) statement that Elvis was not a fan of Dylan's? back in the 1960s, Dylan used to shop his songs around to all sorts of performers (and in fact the point of the "Witmark demos" would have been to market this song and the other songs on the tape.) We don't have to speculate that Elvis must have accidentally heard the song on someone's album, since he would have been a prime target for Dylan's marketing efforts. It is perfectly plausible that he could have heard Dylan's demo tapes. And even if he did hear it on an album, he would be just as likely to be listening to Ian and Sylvia's second album as to the Odetta Sings Dylan album. As far as my limited understanding goes, it was more that Elvis just couldn't quite get his head round Dylan's performing style, not that he didn't recognise his songwriting ability. Many of Dylan's songs would have suited Elvis perfectly. Calum (talk) 18:27, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Cover Version criteria

The list of cover versions was getting pretty bloated and I applaud the recent removals. Its starting to creep up again. I suggest a minimal bar for inclusion here: a cover version listing here should only be considered if the album containing it is notable enough to have a page for itself. I'm suggesting that be a necessary condition, not sufficient on its own - but should be a good start? If someone is interested, a separate "List of cover versions of ..." page might be appropriate. --John (User:Jwy/talk) 02:30, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

The list should be in prose. WP:NSONGS applies, and a separate list would fail WP:NSONGS and WP:GNG. One of my great joys is pruning bloated lists of covers, but I'll wait til this one is longer, but have no objection if somebody thinks it should be shorter. --Richhoncho (talk) 11:02, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

Dion DiMucci ?

A little puzzled by the fact that at the bottom of the page there is a Dion DiMucci "template", just below a Bob Dylan "template" (I may be using wrong Wikipedia terminology) even though Dion is not mentioned anywhere in the article. Did he record this song? If so, shouldn't it be listed along with the other cover versions? And how come none of the other artists who covered it have a "template" ?
