editArabic for 'crushes the snake'? The wiki page for Our Lady of Guadeloupe has:
It has also been suggested that the name is a Hispanized Nahuatl term that the Virgin used for herself, Coatlaxopeuh (pronounced quatlashupe), meaning “the one who crushes the serpent” and that it may be referring to the feathered serpent Quetzacoatl. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.211.115.30 (talk) 11:59, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
Alleged syncretism
editthe first part/half of this section is fine, but the 2nd half veers more into a defense, or declaration, or assertion of the christian faith/religion. this seems improper (most polite word for it) on an article about another faith/religion.Colbey84 (talk) 23:41, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
Coatlaxopeuh
editI added the Ruether quote to explain the source of the claims of syncretism and to elaborate on it, but I didn't edit the paragraph following the quote because I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It's unclear if the source provided contains any of the information in that paragraph other than the meaning of the name Coatlaxopeuh. There is more information on the page for Coatlaxopeuh that may be helpful, but I don't have the time at the moment to go through it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.92.88.98 (talk) 17:03, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
