Please change "plays as a midfielder for Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga" to "plays as a midfielder for Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga" because he has been transferred to Real Madrid from FC Bayern Munich. LEOSentMe (talk) 08:11, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Transfer fee

edit

Please change the transfer fee to 25 million euros, there are a lot of reputable media saying the transfer fee is 25 million euros

There are a lot of sources saying 30, including bild.de who is realiable when it comes to sport and even more about german players. Kante4 (talk) 18:52, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I've put it between 25M and 30M. So, this shouldn't be an issue anymore. kicker magazine, which is also a credible source has it at 25M. Kingjeff (talk) 18:57, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

2008-09 stats

edit

I noticed there's a contradiction between the listings in career stats and what's written under Bayer Leverkusen/loan. While it says in the text that the loan agreement with Bayer was for 2009-2010, in his career stats there are matches listed with Bayer already for the previous season when he was - according to the text - still playing with Bayern. I originally thought the text was incorrect, but I've just looked it up and the career stats for the season seem to be incorrectly listed. Please clarify/correct as appropriate. Thanks! Ben T/C 14:53, 16 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

The loan was an 18 month loan from January 2009 to June 2010. In the "loan at Bayer Leverkusen" section (it had been in the "early career" section), it states "On 31 January 2009, Bayern allowed Kroos to join Bayer 04 Leverkusen on an 18 month loan to gain first team experience." 31 January is right in the middle of the season. This is sourced by SkySports. So, he was at 2 different clubs. Kingjeff (talk) 16:20, 16 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Assists

edit

What do people think of adding assist columns into his stats table? Good addition or unnecessary? Rupert1904 (talk) 00:52, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

No. More info at WP:FOOTY. There were several discussions about that and we do NOT include them. Kante4 (talk) 01:09, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

The defensive tendencies of Toni Kroos

edit

Good insight on the defensive tendencies of Toni Kroos by Managing Madrid. The article could prove (to be) useful in expanding parts of this page (those related to Style of play). Hurrygane (talk) 17:09, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

WP:OVERLINK is clear, unless there's a clear connection between the subject and the major geographic feature, we do not need a link. There's a link to the subject's city of birth and if they want the history of the city, including its time in the GRD, they can link there, but we don't need a link to East Germany in the infobox as far as I can see. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:54, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

In other words, is someone coming to this article expecting a link to East Germany? Are they asking themselves, "what's that country that merged with West Germany after the collapse of the Iron Curtain? You know, the one that Toni Kroos was born in?" It's more likely they want to see things related to his notability: his club teams and national teams than with the politics. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:00, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

UEFA Super Cup as honor

edit

Well, realmadrid.com listed he won 4 UEFA Super Cup , presumably including 2016 UEFA Super Cup that he don't even in the lineup (not sure he was in the squad list to UEFA or not). However, based on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football's discussion , we need more citation and/or the player was actually played in the final, to qualify as a "honor". Transfermarkt is not reliable. Real Madrid is no third party. Not sure about indiatoday but he was not in the squad, which is the cut here on wikipedia. Kante4 (talk) 12:27, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

"Not sure about indiatoday" Is not a quality fact check which is the cut everywhere else in the world. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/india-today/ Aside from providing a proper third party, you could argue that the club that employs a player would know which titles were won. Especially the most followed club in the world which can be held more accountable than a second division side. https://en.as.com/en/2019/12/29/football/1577606426_305803.html Kroos was directly responsible for winning the 3 consecutive champions leagues from 2016-2018 as a staring first team player. The two competitions (Uefa Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup) that you participate in as a result from winning the Champions league and any subsequent victories apply to him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.63.194.205 (talk) 17:44, 6 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Didn’t he win the 2016 super cup with Real Madrid ? 2001:569:BBD2:D600:DD2C:A2:FAF:5D0 (talk) 03:17, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

No, as he was not in the squad for that game. Kante4 (talk) 12:00, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Five Champions League

edit

This information is outdated, he has won 6-Champions league making him the highest player with the medal alongside Modric,Nacho,Genko and Dani 197.211.58.111 (talk) 08:59, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

The missing season was 2012–13 when it was clear that he made appearances and scored goals in the competition. The difference is that he was not on the squad list in the final but I have seen all Real Madrid players getting their medals last week. That has to be included in the honours section.
