Wiener Schnitzel

edit

Why is there a link to wiener schnitzel? What does an Austrian veal dish have to do with Tonkatsu? HardwareLust (talk) 06:23, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think they are related, but I have no source to show that. Anybody? --Memming (talk) 10:31, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
They are prepared the same way. It's possible that Tonkatsu was a copy of the Wiener Schnitzel (it says in the article that is was "European cuisine" that inspired it, the European food that matches this dish is the Wiener Schnitzel). This theory could do with a good source though. 195.177.83.221 (talk) 10:48, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Meaning of Katsu

edit

I understand the word 'katsu' can have the meaning 'victory'. Is it possible there is an element of humour in the use of this word? debater (talk) 19:58, 7 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Korean-style

edit

This video of a westerner living in KR (apparently) makes note of "Korean-style" tonkatsu, but doesn't appear to say what it is called or really describe it. Anybody here from KR or interested in their food know what that entails? A bit could be added, if sourced. I'll look later on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIcmfSzeaKk YellowAries2010 (talk) 22:19, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

No need to add. 2400:2410:8182:A00:BD03:E6CD:8186:65C7 (talk) 14:43, 12 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
