Real Name
editTony Martin's real name is Anthony Martin Harford.--MarshallStack 01:33, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
==========================
editWould someone please update Tony Martin's discography section, to include his preformance on Candlemass's "20 Year Anniversary" (2007). This is on DVD, and can be referenced at Amazon or even just looking right on the DVD label packaging. Candlemass is a Swedish doom metal band, which has an article on Wikipedia too.

Requested move
edit- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: moved to Tony Martin (British singer) and Tony Martin (American singer) Mike Cline (talk) 16:17, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- Tony Martin (musician) → Tony Martin (English singer)
- Tony Martin (singer) → Tony Martin (American singer)
– These gentlemen are both singers (and both musicians), so the current disambiguation is clearly inadequate. I have no strong feelings on whether the disambiguator should be "British" or "English", and both seem to have some use.[1][2] Using "musician" instead of "singer" would also work, although the latter does sound somewhat more natural. Jafeluv (talk) 21:48, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Suggest having one discussion place for all of these Tony Martin renames.--Education does not equal common sense. 我不在乎 22:47, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Comment: "English" is a language, so "english singer" is not an ideal disambiguator. If we're aiming to disambiguate by nationality, then surely he has a British passport &c. bobrayner (talk) 10:39, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- Suggest using British instead of English per Bobrayner -- 70.24.247.242 (talk) 04:24, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- Support fair case per Jafeluv. On comments, seems we generally try and be specific with the mongrel components of the UK, per Georgia Brown (English singer), Michael Jackson (English singer), Mark Gillespie (English singer), Mary Ann Kennedy (Scottish singer) etc., can't believe anyone will read Tony Martin (English singer) as "Singer in English" any more than Richard Anthony (French singer), Natalia (Spanish singer), Richard Gordon (English author), etc. however if needs be then Tony Martin (British singer) would also be fine, if telling me less. Orphaned references in Tony Martin (British singer)
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Tony Martin (British singer)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Before Black Sabbath
editI cannot imagine that Iommi had picked a complete no-name singer to join Black Sabbath. In 1987, the year of Eternal Idol, Tony Martin was already 30 years old - and he MUST have been doing some music before, something that must have convinced Tony Iommi. Anybody who has any relevant informations about this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:CC:E72E:CF00:D9D5:F364:152:C0B8 (talk) 14:26, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- You're absolutely right. Martin started his career with The Alliance and later had a demo with Tobruk. Curious that the page for Tobruk mentions Martin but not vice-versa. Alternator99 (talk) 21:29, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
