This is his twitter account [5] where he states he made his debut the following season. Ive emailed Airdrie to see if they kept records that season and therefore have the ability to clear this up. Anyone else have any idea on a way forward here. EdinburghWanderer21:00, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
This preview of the 2011/12 season by STV Sport on the Airdrie website says "Though I personally thought Bain was a better player than Watt, it was the latter who earned a £100k move to Celtic in the January transfer window, having only made his debut for the first team in July." (my italics) Also, the 2010/11 Sky Sports Yearbook pp.670–671 gives the 7 Nov 2009 appearance to Kevin Watt.
The BBC and other stats sites get their team lists from the same source (in England it's the Press Association, don't know if it's the same in Scotland), and if that source makes a mistake, then the BBC etc perpetuate that mistake. Some publishers correct those errors later, some don't. If it were me, I'd go with Sky Sports Yearbook (who do check their facts before publishing) and the words on the club website every time, particularly if the player himself backs that version. Hope this helps, cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:11, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yeah for first division and lower it's the press association, only the premier do their own stats. I was thinking it was going to be a mistake but usually it comes from them just saying Watt but in this instance they had his full name which is unusual. I mailed Airdire but as yet no reply if no one else disagrees then I think we should go with the sky year book since the player agrees with that. Thanks for your help Struway as wasn't sure where to go with this if we only had the twitter feed to go on. EdinburghWanderer12:24, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
