editWhat his his religion? Coptic, Baptist, etc...?
- I've read he is a Rastafarian, just chooses not to wear the locks.--Chimino (talk) 09:29, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
roots reggae singer
editsomeone wrote that Toots is roots reggae singer... I think that it's wrong, because his main genre is early reggae
Zbychowiec (talk) 23:37, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- Toots really did the whole gamut from Ska (where he made his name), to Rocksteady , Reggae and even some Dub. The guy was the quintisential Jamaican musician who spanned genres almost like Bowie or Neil young did. 121.45.226.70 (talk) 07:21, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Sublime remade a song of his, "5446 thats my number" which is about his incarceration and 5446 was his cell number. Good song. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.8.170.228 (talk) 20:59, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Discography
editHe deserves a full discography. Nicmart (talk) 04:24, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
"Father of Reggae"
editIt's undue to place this quoted title in the article. First of all, it was only capitalized as part of the NYT article's title and is lowercase in the body.[1] If it's going to be used quoted, it needs in-text attribution; however, that would also be misleading, as most sources—not only the NYT—would support simply calling a pioneer as opposed to a "Father".—Bagumba (talk) 18:42, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
