Move to 3D Toronto Sign?
edit@RA0808: @Walter Görlitz: Should this article be moved to 3D Toronto Sign, as it is its official name, albeit not in all-caps per Wikipedia guidelines? Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 00:07, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- If that's the official name, yes. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:04, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

- It's 2022 and the city appears to consider "Toronto sign" as it's official name (see here). the term "3D Toronto sign" also has not appeared in city documents for the past few years, except to discuss the physical object in the new installation context, and term the "Toronto sign" is used far more frequently in those documents. For these reasons, I believe the article should be moved back to "Toronto sign". Even if I'm wrong and 3D is still in the official title, per WP:COMMONNAME the most commonly used title should be the article name, not necessarily the official one. 3D Toronto sign → Toronto Sign – "3D Toronto Sign" no longer appears to be the official name of the sign per the city (see talk page). Also even if it is, "Toronto Sign" is WP:COMMONNAME as acknowledged within the the first sentence of the article itself, official names aren't preferred. CASalt (talk) 20:58, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 16:04, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi there, this can't be done as uncontroversal given the previous discussion and move history. Dr. Vogel (talk) 11:50, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support Most of the references in the article call it the "Toronto sign". https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/history-art-culture/toronto-sign/ used the proposed article name as the article title and links in the FAQ below, and only adds 3D in the caption. - Support Requester's vote. CASalt (talk) 01:22, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support '3D' looks unnecessary now. Jhy.rjwk (talk) 06:59, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
