editAside from his titles this guy seems quite ordinary...--80.133.97.241 11:40, 21 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Well, maybe the elephant polo thing I just added makes him slightly more interesting.--Pharos 17:21, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
Paragraph Removal
editJust to clarify my removal of the following paragraph:
In some gazeteers, the Dukes of Argyll are described as Keeper of the Great Seal, an office in fact held by the First Minister of Scotland.
1) A gazetteer is primarily a geographic dictionary and most would not discuss aspects of Scottish government.
2) Reference to the Great Seal of Scotland is irrelevant. Certainly several Dukes of Argyll have been its Keeper in the past, but then so have other members of the Scottish nobility - the Dukes of Argyll did not have an exclusive right to that role, and the last time they held it was in 1846! Furthermore, the Great Seal has been kept by an official instead of a noble since 1885 - there is no reason to mention it here. Bezapt 10:42, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
