Total war (disambiguation) → Total War – Per WP:DIFFCAPS. Everything here is a proper noun. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 16:19, 22 August 2019 (UTC)--Relisting. Warm Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 16:56, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose: The primary topic, Total war, is not a proper noun. I think the primary topic is the same, even if the term is capitalized. Note that WP:DIFFCAPS provides a very similar example: "Friendly Fire". The dab page for that is at Friendly Fire (disambiguation), not at Friendly Fire, which is instead a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to Friendly fire. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:13, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Friendly Fire (disambiguation) seems to have been moved on a very WP:POINTy basis, it is not a proper noun and therefore the disambiguation would make perfect sense at Friendly Fire, its former location. The supposed edit to DIFFCAPS saying that it should be ignored when the other article is important that the move used as its rationale was later reverted and is not Wikipedia policy.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:42, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- I see that you have now submitted an RM at Talk:Friendly Fire (disambiguation). I look forward to seeing how that plays out. Since it is referenced in a Wikipedia guideline, it is an important point of reference. —BarrelProof (talk) 23:07, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- The last time it was RM'd it recieved the same amount of opposes as supports, so I'm actually confused as to why it didn't end in No Consensus.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:21, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom and Red Meat/Bird Box etc. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:11, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- This seems different from Red Meat, since that's a redirect to a lowercase dab page, not a capitalized dab page that is distinct from a lowercase topic term like what is proposed here. Bird Box is a closer parallel, but I see no indication that its title was ever the subject of an RM discussion or consensus, so I think it doesn't carry much weight. —BarrelProof (talk) 23:45, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter that much if the title of the DAB page is upper case or not as long as the upper case redirects to it and per WP:DABNAME all the other entries use the upper case (unlike Red Meat) so the simplified title of the upper case makes sense. There was an RM for Bird Box at Talk:Bird Box (novel)#Requested move 7 January 2019 where the novel was previously primary. Crouch, Swale (talk) 08:06, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the note about the prior RM at Bird Box (novel). I put a remark about that at Talk:Bird Box so that others will be able to find it. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:50, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

- Support I don't think someone searching for "Total War" is significantly more likely to be looking for Total war than any other topic, and thus a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT is not appropriate. Note that "Total War (series)" alone gets 2x the pageviews of "Total war". Also, there are currently 18 mainspace wikilinks that use this Total War → Total war redirect. By my count, 5 of them are mistargeted, and were intended to point to Total War (series). Moving the disambiguation page to Total War will mean that, in the future, if editors make that mistake, bots will be able to immediately detect it as such. Colin M (talk) 23:35, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose – we don't usually distinguish by case alone. The primary topic is Total war. Dicklyon (talk) 04:03, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
- Support. The dab page is getting 37 views per day, which seems a little high.[1] That may be due to readers typing "Total War" and then having to click on the hatnote unnecessarily. If we did not differentiate between common and proper nouns by caps, Total War (series) would be the primary topic. Station1 (talk) 22:59, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
