Middlebrook
editThe article states that the stadium is in Bolton, but Middlebrook Retail Park is in Horwich, so which is correct? - Dudesleeper talk 19:46, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- Looks like I have restored this when I reached the article on my watchlist, have just got to this change so did not realise it had been queried. I reverted back to Horwich as per the address and updated the URL for the reference. Keith D (talk) 00:12, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
St Helens World Club Challenge matches
editWhat was the reason for St Helens playing their World Club Challenge matches at the stadium? Wonderwizard (talk) 12:18, November 13 2015 (UTC)

University of Bolton Stadium → Toughsheet Community Stadium – Name of stadium changed on 1 July but page already created as a redirect to stop premature renaming of page Quentin X (talk) 14:59, 1 July 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). Quentin X (talk) 17:31, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Link here from the club itself.[1] The image in the infobox of the page actually has a photo of the stadium with the new name on it. Quentin X (talk) 17:31, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose - we do not use sponsored names where an alternative exists, and the article confirms it has a non-sponsored name of 'Bolton Wanderers Stadium', so I suggest it is moved there instead. GiantSnowman 18:15, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- comment - bolton wanderers stadium was never used. uefa policy against sponsors was not a thing in 2005 and 2007 when bolton played in the uefa cup. in fact, they just straight up never even referred to it as the bolton wanderers stadium here is ever single match report from uefa for bolton wanderers home matches in the uefa cup [1]] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] every single one uses reebok stadium. whoever added bolton wanderers stadium made it up based on the fact they were anti sponsor later. based on this information, i am removing this made up name hoax from the page. there are 9 sources here from uefa all calling it reebok stadium, bolton stadium is not a real name its a name made up by some guy on wikipedia. he simply saw uefa's later rule and decided to add it to bolton, without it acutally being true as it did not apply in those years. as such, this oppose isnt valid.Muur (talk) 07:58, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support as per nom. 162 etc. (talk) 20:38, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support the page wouldve been moved had the previous user not done it wrong. bolton stadium is not an official name, therefore changing to toughsheet is the correct move. the other user messing it up shouldnt prevent that.Muur (talk) 07:46, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support unfortunately only the sponsor names are WP:COMMONNAMEs for this. Even if UEFA used "Bolton Wanderers Stadium" as a non-sponsored name, that is not a commonly used name for this stadium. Personally, I highly dislike using sponsored names, but it's acceptable if and only if there is no current/historical common name without a sponsor name. Bolton's stadium has always been sponsored, so the common name is always the sponsored name. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:35, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support When it comes to stadium names, the people who know a club very well should be trusted when they explain that other names aren't common names. The situation seems to be similar to my request about the MHPArena. Former sponsored names are obviously inappropiate. If we would go with UEFA names, a lot of pages like FC Red Bull Salzburg would have to be moved. --Yoda1893 (talk) 11:12, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support Normally I'd support the best-known (non-sponsored) name of the stadium, but this stadium doesn't have one. From the moment it was built it was known as "The Reebok" after its first sponsor, and I can't see any reliable sources to show that its COMMONNAME name is "Bolton Wanderers Stadium". Black Kite (talk) 19:37, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- Comment as would be expected of all only sponsored stadiums, all media going forward till use this name just like how they used macron stadium and university stadium and then in five years some other new name will get used. as for Bolton Wanderers Stadium, thats a name that doesnt exist and was found to be a hoax. hopefully in five years or so the page is moved correctly to its future new name to avoid having to do this sort of thing again. it wasnt an issue in 2014 or 2018, so the user making the name early 'just in case' wasnt valid then, and isnt really valid now.Muur (talk) 06:00, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- I think you can stop with the character assassination now. Quentin X (talk) 08:06, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
