Was he Métis? The Métis people (Canada) article says he was. Badagnani (talk) 22:47, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
I too wonder why it is said he was Metis. his son was Metis, but I can find no reference to him being Metis on the PBS site. In fact the geneaological records on Rootsweb indicate he was 100% French-Canadian. 69.157.135.125 (talk) 02:42, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- If you have info on this, please add references, as basically the entire article is uncited. Gaijin42 (talk) 19:38, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Family history
editfrom the article: "His paternal great grandmother Marguerite de Noyon was the sister of Jacques de Noyon, who had explored the region around Kaministiquia, present day Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 1788."
so that guy who was born in 1767 had a great-granduncle Jacque de Noyon, how explored something other than his grave in 1788? that doesn't sound right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:AA13:B141:C800:B4D8:1F51:AF7B:431F (talk) 12:19, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
