I am a representative of Towerbrook Capital Partners and would like to suggest to the community that some of the information on this page should be amended.

Specifically, the section titled “2017 - Towerbrook Portfolio Company Sued For Fraud” contains content that is inaccurate and not appropriately sourced (the press release the entry links to is no longer online), which is a clear breach of Wikipedia’s policy on identifiable, reliable sources for all information.

We would like to replace this section with the following content which provides appropriate references. We will await community feedback for a period of 7 days before making this change.

Litigation

In 2017, Vistage, a former portfolio company of TowerBrook, was sued by Direct List and member Eran Salu alleging misuse of information shared in a meeting by a Vistage employee (1). The complaint was originally filed in 2015. In 2016 a summary judgement dismissing the case was granted by the United States District Court, San Diego, California (2). In September 2017 Eran Salu and Direct List filed a new complaint in the Superior Court in San Diego.

After three and a half years I have not had any response to my previous suggested edit(see below). Out of respect for the guidelines on conflict-of-interest editing and the importance of a neutral point of view, I am engaging here on the Talk page to propose further wording for your consideration. This material includes a number of references to publicly available information.

Investment funds

From 2001, when TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P. (then a subsidiary of Soros Fund Management LLC) launched its first fund, through June 2016, the firm raised a total of $9.4 billion from investors in four private equity funds and one structured opportunities fund, and invested in 45 companies across a range of sectors in Europe and the US(3).

Strategy

TowerBrook’s private equity strategy is to pursue control-oriented investments in large and mid-market companies, principally on a proprietary basis and often in situations characterized by complexity. The firm’s structured opportunities universe includes multiple asset classes, from stressed and distressed debt instruments in both primary and secondary markets to structured equity and structured assets. TowerBrook does not consider investing in armaments, tobacco, sexual exploitation and unregulated gambling(4).

Social engagement

The TowerBrook Foundation is a charitable organization set up by the partners of the firm in 2006(5). Its primary focus is on supporting young people not in education, employment or training in the communities in which TowerBrook operates. Since 2006 the TowerBrook Foundation has provided resources in cash and kind to help charities such as City Year6 and other organizations directly engaged in this objective. From the end of 2010 through October 2016, Ramez Sousou donated £279,500 to the Conservative Party in the UK(7).

The article as it stands is now substantially out of date and materially inaccurate. In the interests of accuracy I intend to make the changes set out above. Please don’t hesitate to contact me on my Talk page if you have any questions about my proposal or can make further improvements to this article. Thanks. I am Andrew Sturgess and I have been engaged by TowerBrook Capital Partners (TowerBrook) to ensure publicly available information on Wikipedia about TowerBrook is accurate and up to date. I recognize that there is a potential COI and have familiarised myself with the Wikipedia guidelines on this. I will therefore refrain from editing the article directly and instead suggest amendments for your consideration here on the talk page.

Currently (6th June 2013) TowerBrook are described as;

“TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P. is an American private equity firm based in the New York City, New York. They have additional offices are in London, San Francisco, and New York City.”

Using www.towerbrook.com as the reference this should read;

“TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P. is a private equity firm based in Europe and the USA. They have offices in London and New York City.” — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asturgess (talkcontribs) 13:10, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Infobox updates

edit

Hello! I'm posting here as part of my work for Beutler Ink, on behalf of TowerBrook. I've disclosed my financial conflict of interest in the banner at the top of this Talk page, as well as on my User page.

I propose updating the following information in the Infobox:

  • Reason: Current figure is outdated.
  • Update Number of employees to 149 as of 2023, per the most recent version of the report currently cited.
  • Reason: Current figure is outdated.
  • Change Key People to: Neal Moszkowski (Founder and Chair), Ramez Sousou (Founder), Jonathan Bilzin (co-CEO), Karim Saddi (co-CEO)

That's all for now. Because of my COI, I will not make these changes myself. Thanks for taking a look! Cheers, BINK Robin (talk) 14:47, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Partly done: Only "key people" has been changed. I don't see the SEC filing supporting your other changes though. You can quote the document if I'm mistaken. ⸺(Random)staplers 19:21, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
