Fair use rationale for Image:Gzgcentury.jpg
editImage:Gzgcentury.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:40, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Maybach: Wealth and Excess? No, the Maybach is a car with understatement.
- Sources? Anyone? No?! Oh, well... then it's opinion unfit for WP. Regards, Signaturebrendel 22:27, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Discontinuation
editThe Century has disappeared from Toyota's Japanese website. Does anybody know if it has been discontinued? Stepho talk 23:40, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
- Responding to myself 6 years later, the Century is now back on line at https://toyota.jp/century/ and probably has been for quite a while. Stepho talk 01:04, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
Who are its peers?
edit@Stepho-wrs: Do you know how much Rolls-Royce and moreover the old Maybach cost? --Yomal Sidoroff-Biarmskii (talk) 21:37, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- Here's a nice quote for you "Toyota announced this week that the 2018 Century will set buyers back a cool ¥19.6 million, or about $180,000 at today's exchange rate. That's a bit more than you'd spend on a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class limousine, but it's staggeringly cheaper than either Rolls-Royce sedan, the cheaper of which starts around $300,000." - https://www.cnet.com/toyota-century/ All 3 cars mentioned in the same paragraph by a respected car magazine. Lede image
editWP:CARPIX says that no particular model is favoured over any other. So it is not necessary to use to the latest model. Neither is it ruled out. However, the image Wikiuser100 has selected does not show the shape (old or new) as well as the old image. Note also that if we can't come to a consensus then the old image will be restored according to the guideline at WP:BRD. Stepho talk 22:20, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
Source for "Empress"?
editWhat is the basis of translating 皇 as "empress"? The character is unequivocally male (emperor) in Japanese, while Empress would be 皇后. If there's no official translation, I'd suggest glossing 皇1 as "Imperial 1". Jpatokal (talk) 04:19, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
I've update the article to use "Imperial" instead. Jpatokal (talk) 08:54, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- I did some searching a few days back and found both male and female forms in English news articles. So "imperial" sounds reasonable. Thanks. Stepho talk 09:31, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
