"Trackway" can mean train tracks

edit

Tri-Met calls their tracks for MAX trains "trackways." So an disambiguation article might be needed. Persumably, the version used by Tri-Met would redirect to simply "track".--Will 05:50, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Trackways, Ancient Trackways, Ichnites

edit

There is a fair degree of overlap between these three articles - Trackway, Ancient trackway and Ichnite and consideration might be given to merging some elements rather than repeating them. I see no sense in having fossil animal tracks millions of years old eg those of dinosaurs in the same article that considers communication features of human origin which might be just a few hundreds or thousands of years old - they are quite different phenomena. Human footprints such as those preserved at Happisburgh are a different matter though. cheers Geopersona (talk) 05:21, 12 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Partial merge

edit

I have removed my earlier comments to save confusion. I now believe that the best approach would be to copy the material for fossil tracks to the Fossil trackway article and that relating to trails to the Ancient trackways article–the the focus of that article needs to be changed first.

On further thought it would be better to first merge this article with the Ancient trackway article and make the partial merges later. See the discussion on the Ancient trackway Talk page. Rwood128 (talk) 12:46, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
