Traffic paddles in Germany

edit

In the couple of hours since I created this article, it has been nominated for speedy deletion, and this has already been declined. The speed of Wikipedians is dizzying. So I ought to justify its existence. I needed an English word for the German Polizeikelle and it was extremely difficult to find one. Neither dictionaries nor online sources helped. Finally a friend with expertise in the field said traffic paddle is the correct word. In the first place this article is intended to get that information available. The British (and I think US) police do not use these things, and really the context is the continental police practice. I have provided a link to the parallel article in the German Wikipedia, which shows what way this could now develop. --Doric Loon (talk) 23:31, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

US police uses traffic batons (https://galls.com/galls-led-traffic-baton), a hand held tool that emits red light over ~20 cm of length. I think the same are commonly used in airport operations too. 128.237.233.170 (talk) 21:52, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
