List of members

edit

I've changed the list of "franchises" to the list of members.
Those companies are not or were not "franchises" -- or, more correctly, even "franchisees" (with two Es).
They were members -- members of a trade association -- an association first named as the National Trailways Bus System, now named as the Trailways Transportation System.

Disruption

edit

An anonymous user has deleted two items -- the names of two major long-time members of the Trailways trade association -- from the list of members.
[I've undone the damage.]
The same user has a record of having made numerous unexplained and unsupported deletions from various articles.
His behavior appears to be disruptive and antisocial.
He has received many warnings -- along with requests to refrain.
Is it now not well past the time to bar the offender and his counterproductive antics?

interlining problem

edit

An Adirondack Trailways driver in the 1970s told me of a problem with interlining. Interlining was a system in which two carriers shared one bus for a route, in this case Adirondack Trailways and Safeway Trails, the former independent (then often referred to as a franchise) and the latter a subsidiary of Continental Trailways, shared buses for a route between Albany, New York, and Philadelphia through New York City. The problem was that an Adirondack bus arriving in Philadelphia would disappear until it was worn down to the condition typical of Safeway buses, and Adirondack then had to do work on the bus they hadn't had much use of. So, Adirondack discontinued the interlining. Nick Levinson (talk) 02:00, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
