usability / practial information
editthis seems like a fine page if you are a train spotter, but is pretty useless to the average person looking for timetables, fares or useful links, let alone interesting and readable history.
external links with non-static URLs
editLinks to specific pages on websites such as [www.ns.nl] will never have a URL that remains static for a long period. This is most likely the reason that some of the links in this article were not correct (anymore). Can we think of a way to fix this once and for all, so we don't have to check and update these kinds of links every time a site like ns.nl changes something in their internal structure? It may be better to give just a link to the base domain (i.e. www.ns.nl).
Summaring, which is worse:
- having a link only to the base domain and not to the specific page on that website
- having a specific link that quickly becomes outdated and does not point to any page on that site
Any thoughts? MHD 15:36, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- A link like http://www.ns.nl/cgi-bin/get.pdf?Satellite_blobcol=url_download&blobheader=application%2Fpdf&blobkey=id&blobtable=Download&blobwhere=1155819828149&cachecontrol=*%3A0%3A0+*%2F*%2F*&ssbinary=true&bannerFrom=No+pagename+availableA may not be reusable at a later session, so in such a case a link to a higher level webpage may be needed, with a description how to go from there.--Patrick 18:03, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Abbreviated station names
editAny chance someone who knows what those short codes stand for could replace them with the full station names? It's more or less incomprehensible to the vast majority of people as is. 193.95.165.190 13:36, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- That is clearly explained. Although it would make the list longer, you are welcome to replace the abbreviations with the full names.--Patrick 15:22, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
