I think we should merge Trans-European Networks and Trans-European networks.

The article name should be capitalized (Trans-European Networks) because it's the name of an EU framework/project. See logo at the top of the home page for the project [1].

The two articles are both stubs and the content is different, so the merge will be helpful. --Mihai 06:31, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

I have read this article and I don't know what it means. Could someone wiser than me say what the networks are? Are they physical, or organisational? What practical effect has been the result of the EU aspiration? Are the networks new, or are we branding existing networks to be TENS networks?

And (pedantry mode) I have never ever heard them referred to in speech or in writing as TEN. I realise the N stands for networks, but rightly or wrongly everyone calls them TENS or sometimes TENs.

But if there are two stubs with only capitalisation different, then for god's sake merge them.

Treaty Basis

I noticed that the reference to the treaty-basis for Trans-European networks seemed to be incorrect. In my copy of the treaties, Title XV and Articles 154 to 156 are in the Treaty Establishing the European Community (Rome, 1957), not the Treaty on the European Union (Maastricht, 1992). I have to disagree with you there. In both the Treaty of Rome and of Maastricht the articles you mentioned are about procedural matters concerning the institutions, notably the Council, Commission and Court. As far as I know, there is no direct treaty basis, just implied powers. If there is, please do include them. (Gerard RvE (talk) 16:42, 22 November 2010 (UTC))
