Raycee Ignacio is her proper name

At least as best I can tell, "Raci" is a misspelling, or deliberate change, of some kind by the show's producers. She has used the name Raycee to sign her posts on IMDB [1], it's the name she uses on MySpace [2], and her webpage on Angelfire [3]. Considering it's the name she personally uses, I believe it's the appropriate one to use here. -- ZoeF 03:59, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

I never saw it spelled "Raycee" anywhere. It's spelled "Raci" in the documentary film that I watched, on the cast list of IMDB[4], on the Sundance Channel webpage [5], on the LOGO webpage [6], and various other sites. If it is a deliberate change by the producers, it should be respected, as the article is about the product, not a personal page about one of the actors. LilianPhoebs 21:43, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

No one is arguing at all that Transgeneration uses the name Raci. That's not the point here, the fact is that SHE, Raycee herself, spells her name Raycee. This is not supposed to be a fictionalized drama, this is a documentary film. She isn't a character, she's a person whose real life was filmed. Changing her name to reflect a misspelling, deliberate or not, is ridiculous. Again, this is a documentary, she's not a fictionalized character, she personally spells her name Raycee as you can see in the links I provided. This is a article about the documentary. It's not our job to change the documentary to reflect out personal feelings. Perhaps you should talk to Raycee herself, to ask if she wanted to be referred to as "Raci" in the film, since you seem to connect with her personally instead of with the film as a whole. I think the change is most likely deliberate, and therefore does not constitute a misspelling. Perhaps Raycee herself wanted it that way, to protect her identity. If you feel so strongly about this, you can just add a line in the paragraph about her, but to change the spelling of her name in the film would be a misrepresentation of the documentary. I'm simply trying to make the article unbiased. Lastly, I'm not arguing with you. Calm yourself and realize that this is simply a discussion. LilianPhoebs 18:21, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Firstly, I am calm. Slightly frustrated? Perhaps, but I am calm. So I'll repeat myself, no one is saying that she wasn't called Raci in Transgeneration. I won't debate that point currently, and I have no intention of doing so in the future. Secondly, I found it more than a bit patronizing to insinuate that I'm after this change because of any personal connection with Raycee, that isn't the case at all. I'm actually a much bigger fan of Gabbie and Lucas, if you're wondering. I care about this for one reason really, I like Wikipedia being accurate. Misstating Raycee's name is choosing inaccuracy over accuracy, that's my entire standpoint, really.

I believe her actual chosen name should take precedence over what appears to be a simple misspelling. If I was personally misidentified as Zoey somewhere instead of Zoe, I'd want that fixed. I would be surprised if she didn't feel the same way. You can make a claim of perhaps protecting her identity, but she's since appeared in numerous areas talking about the show and using the name Raycee, so clearly it is not a top concern for her. At the very least, the starring section should identify her real name and not just the way she was credited.

As for your comment about bias, I'm not sure that I understand where you're coming from at all with that, care to clarify? -- ZoeF 05:32, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Incorrect information

On lines 4-5 this article states that “All four are living on campus at four different colleges.”, just before the second citation of "What is "TransGeneration"?". Gay.com. 10 June 2007, page 13.

This is not correct.

In the series Raci lives off campus with, I believe, her aunt. Because the series deals specifically with the difficulties she faces surrounding the issue of obtaining on-campus (gender/sex segregated) residency, I feel that this should be corrected. Hopefully someone, with better writing and citation skills than I, will see fit to correct this.

Yes I realize that this probably is not the best forum to make this note, but I’m not familiar with the process and am not sure what else to do.

Cast section

It's doubtful that they're still students, but since the possibility that they still could be exists (I was a student at the time, and knew Raci personally... and only recently got an associate degree -_-), I'm not sure if the verb tenses should be changed. Good article nomination on hold

This article's Good Article nomination has been put on hold. During review, some issues were discovered that can be resolved without a major re-write. This is how the article, as of June 13, 2017, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: Lede is a bit short, and article is a bit large. Article size is fine, just saying per WP:LEAD, lede should be expanded to a bit more, to function as a good summary of the entire article's contents, not just an introduction. You gotta work on improving the flow and the format with regards to lots of short paragraphs. These should be expanded, or just merged together to have larger paragraphs along relevant themes within each section.

2. Verifiable?: Article is well cited, info that is not cited is plot info per WP:PLOTSUMMARY and the wording is given in a matter of fact manner.

Would really like to see more Production info, that section could be expanded more.

4. Neutral point of view?: Wording is given in a matter of fact manner. Article is presented in a neutral tone. Appears to be NPOV presentation.

5. Stable? Nice good talk page interactions. No major edit warring in edit history.

6. Images?: File:TransGeneration logo (DVD version).png is good. File:Transgenerationpromophoto.jpg is oddly formatted, license should be in its own section at bottom, rationale should be in Summary section, numbered list can go inside the rationale box under "purpose of use.

Unsourced info in Production section

• Filming began soon after the series was cast. The film crew recorded the students on campus, at home, with their friends and families, at medical appointments, and on outings to transgender-related events. Some footage was recorded by the students themselves. In February 2005, the administration at Smith College prohibited the film crew from continuing to film on campus. Lucas Cheadle. the student whom the crew had been recording, asked the dean of students to reconsider, but his appeal was denied. Cheadle said he felt that, despite his academic success, the administration was ashamed of him. -- Uncited.
