Citi's ad
A first glance at the ad would suggest Citi funded Columbus, or something like that, but then looking at the Wiki article's wording about investor confidence, it seemed like a big bank would have had to get involved. I would have guessed the Rockefellar's Chase, but Chase started a decade later, and the company that played second fiddle to it when Chase Manhattan was formed (The Manhattan) doesn't seem to have had ambitions that grand. [:) .. smile .. I just didn't fully research Citi's part of this second wave of investors as of this moment, but their ad does seem quite likely; NYC seemed like a likely beneficiary of such a cable, including because of immigration.] Pi314m (talk) 01:18, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
