Profit Motive
editI've changed the sentence reading
- "But the aim of treasure hunting is profit, not the study of human cultures through the recovery, documentation, and analysis of material remains and environmental data."
to
- "Treasure hunting activity, however, is primarily motivated by potential for profit."
as the former seems to be NPOV in presuming that genuine scientific interest and profit-seeking activity are mutually exclusive (evidenced in the "...not..." phrase), and thereby makes negative implications regarding the character of the treasure-hunters who also claim to pursue legitimate research. 208.63.153.135 16:29, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- I've cleaned up this language for clarification, see edit
Mergeto removed
editI have removed the mergeto tag for this article and Marine salvage. Consensus appears to be not to merge them. Georgewilliamherbert 20:09, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
