western and eastern switched; Hippolais opaca is the western olivaceus warbler = Isabelline warbler, Hippolais pallida is the eastern olivaceus warbler. See the page for "olivaceus warbler", and reference works such as Borrow & Demey, Birds of Western Africa Morphophonosyntax (talk) 20:51, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Partial protection?

edit

Is it time to protect this article against editing by anons? For some reason (can anyone enlighten me?) someone keeps inserting the word "horny". This has been going on for months, and it's getting tedious. SNALWIBMA ( talk - contribs ) 18:02, 21 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it's bizarre isn't it. Semi-protection seems like the sensible solution. SP-KP (talk) 18:08, 21 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
It has been going on for almost three years. The earliest instance of this specific vandalism occurred in May 2007! SNALWIBMA ( talk - contribs ) 18:33, 21 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
OK, request now added. SP-KP (talk) 10:22, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Am I missing the joke? Would the anonymous person who keeps doing it please take me aside and explain to me why it's funny to insert the word "horny" into this article? It has just been done again. SNALWIBMA ( talk - contribs ) 06:44, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The joke is that is isn't a joke! Have you ever seen these little buggers? They are! It is an inside joke and is in some other pages and some other sites. Bets are made on how long some will go undetected. One inserted word, not 'horny' in this case, but just as bizarre, has been undetected on wiki for over three years, and that is really funny! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.130.118.95 (talk) 02:53, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, now it won't show even if you try it again. GedUK  11:46, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
